The fragmentary paintings preserved in the Entry Hall of the Tabo Main Temple date to the late 10th century. The sculptures of protectors on the west side are later replacements, but this space has always been occupied by two protectors. Their original appearance can be gathered from the paintings at the side walls of the passage leading from the Entry Hall to the Assembly Hall.
