The story of Prince Mahāsattva offering his body to the tigress is represented in the lower row of the southwest section of the courtyard. The depictions can be followed by reading them along with the translation of the story in Frye, Stanley. The Sutra of the Wise and the Foolish (mdo mdzangs blun) or the Ocean of Narratives. Dharamsala: Library of Tibetan Works & Archives, 1981, chapter 2. However, the first scenes are difficult to reconcile with the text and a full match can only be observed after the corner.
